MZANSI TOUR

The only Internationally recognised cycling tour in South Africa

The Mzansi Tour is the first international South Africa road stage race to take place in professional cycling’s ‘new era’. Mzansi is the Zulu word meaning ‘the South’ and is often used as a colloquialism to refer to South Africa. It’s appropriate then as the name for the Mzansi Tour, the only UCI-graded road cycling stage race in South Africa. Anti-doping control will be a high priority at the tour as our mission is to create a truly fair contest to showcase the strongest riders and smartest teams; an event at which the next generation of young riders and sponsors and fans, can feel reassured.

The mission is to promote economic empowerment and self determination in all communities. Mthunzi hopes that his experience and insight will empower all in reaching financial freedom and develop business acumen and uplift personal determination.

VELOKHAYA LIFE CYCLING ACADEMY

Cycling with a purpose

The Life Cycling Academy (LCA) was founded in 2003 in order to promote the transformation and development of cycling in the previously disadvantaged communities of South Africa. Over the past seven years the LCA has been steadily at work in implementing transformation and development programmes which address all the aspects of cycling ranging from school education, through mass participation to elite level competitive and professional cycling participation. The programmes offered by the LCA reach over 10 000 young people and competitive cyclists per year.
